Oftentimes people seek a professional counselor when they are going through a difficult time; or, when they seek growth in their everyday lives. At New Hope Counseling, our desire is to facilitate wholeness, personal growth, and healing in order for people to live more fulfilling lives.
It is normal to feel anxious when faced with a new situation. At New Hope Counseling, we try to alleviate unnecessary anxiety by providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our counselors are trained, certified, and registered by the State of Colorado to practice counseling. Upon arrival for your first appointment, you will be asked to fill out a couple of short forms. Information is gathered about your situation, and feedback provided regarding goals and how we will accomplish them.
NCC stands for Nationally Certified Counselor. It means the counselor has passed a National Counseling Exam (NCE), and completed 600 supervised hours of clinical counseling. The NCE assesses the abilities, skills, and knowledge necessary in an effective counselor.
In order for counseling to be most effective, it is important for you to share openly with your counselor, recognizing what you share is kept confidential. The only time confidentiality is ever broken is when the State of Colorado mandates it, as in the case with child abuse or imminent danger to yourself or others.
New Hope Counseling serves all populations, with the exception of children. When children go to a counselor, they engage in "play therapy." Play therapy allows the therapist an avenue into the child's world based on their play interactions. Unfortunately at New Hope Counseling, we are not equipped with such an environment and that prevents us from working with children. New Hope Counseling does serve adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
If you are under 18 years of age, the State of Colorado requires a legal guardian to sign a counseling consent form before your first session.
Yes, pre-marital counseling is offered at New Hope Counseling. Oftentimes couples choose to take an inventory assessment, which highlights areas the couple can work on prior to marriage, as well as identify the areas of strength the couple naturally possesses. Our counselors are trained and certified to administer such assessments.
Individual and couples counseling sessions meets for 50 minutes. A family counseling session meets for 75 minutes.
On average, we will meet once a week, during a regularly scheduled time. However, we will meet more or less frequently depending on your needs.
Each individual and couples session costs $95. Each family session costs $175. Fees are collected at each session.
Yes, we do offer process group counseling at New Hope Counseling. In group therapy, approximately 5-8 individuals meet face-to-face with a trained group therapist. Various process therapy groups are offered throughout the year, which will determine the focus for that particular group.
Process groups usually meet during a regularly scheduled time each week for 1 ½ hours. The duration of groups varies from 6 to 16 weeks.
Yes, at New Hope Counseling we limit our group enrollment because we want each member to feel connected to the others. When someone misses a group their presence is missed and the interactions are not the same. While we understand that emergencies arise, we ask that you do your best to attend each session. Payment is still expected for missed sessions.
Each group session costs $40.
Group counseling offers a safe, supportive environment where members can explore and discuss their concerns while challenging members to see things different perspectives. Another powerful advantage to group therapy is it helps people recognize they are not alone in their concerns. Understanding that others have experienced similar difficulties is an encouraging and empowering process. Group counseling also provides a counseling opportunity for those who desire counseling but are unable to afford individual counseling.
Many insurance companies offer reimbursement for psychotherapy. However, New Hope Counseling is not contracted with any insurance providers. A receipt is provided upon request, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please note: We do not complete any insurance paperwork. All inquiries regarding reimbursement should be directed to your insurance provider.
